The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is partnering with the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) to organize a regional NIH multi-Institutes (NIAID/NCI/NIBIB/NIGMS) SBIR/STTR small business workshop in the south-central region of Texas (September 7 & 8, 2016).
The purpose is to prepare current and next-generation of biomedical entrepreneurs to compete in the SBIR/STTR programs. Representatives from these Institutes will attend:
- National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
- National Cancer Institute (NCI)
- National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB)
- National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)
In addition to informing the attendees about the NIH SBIR/STTR programs as a unique career opportunity in biomedical entrepreneurship and commercialization, the workshop will provide the knowledge and guidance needed to apply for SBIR/STTR grants. It will also address NIH SBIR/STTR policies and regulations.
Who: Anyone interested in learning more about NIH SBIR and STTR Programs, including small business owners, researchers, state and local government representatives, small business development centers, academics, etc.
