Nominations for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Tibbetts Awards are open now through November 14th, 2016.
The Tibbetts Awards are presented to those small businesses, organizations, and individuals judged to exemplify the best in the SBIR or STTR programs. The award is named for Roland Tibbetts, acknowledged as the father of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, and is presented to companies, supporting organizations, and individuals which have leveraged the SBIR/STTR investment, or helped others do so, in a way that has generated measurable impacts. All Tibbetts Award winners will be selected by the SBA based on the recommendations of a panel of judges. Award notifications will be sent to the winners via e-mail the week of December 2nd, 2016 (date subject to change).
Companies are evaluated on how they leveraged the SBIR investment and program to stimulate technical innovation, generate business impacts, and spur broader social and economic benefits. Individuals and organizations are evaluated on the basis of unique, long-term service, creation and/or initiation of new programs, or advocacy of SBIR. Anyone can nominate a business, supporting organization and/or individual for a Tibbetts Award – including self-nominations. A full set of nomination guidelines can be seen below.
Please review the nomination package, access either the Firm or the Individual/Organization nomination PowerPoint Template, and then submit your nomination using the nomination form found at: http://bit.ly/2016Tibbetts.
All awardees are invited to Washington, D.C. to attend the Tibbetts Awards ceremony in January 2017.
We look forward to hearing from you.
