Improving surgical outcomes with machine learning - KelaHealth

KelaHealth, a small business funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), combines a patient’s data and machine learning to reduce surgical risks.

KelaHealth’s platform reduces surgical complications by up to 41 percent by using patient data and predictive algorithms to create “tailored risk profiles” for patients before surgery. The company analyzes millions of data points to inform each patient's comprehensive risk profile, and recommend the best interventions to mitigate those risks.

Kela Health is supported by America’s Seed Fund powered by the NSF, a $200 million per year program that awards research and development grants to small businesses and startups, transforming scientific discovery into products and services with commercial and societal impact.
