Abstract

As the production of products with wirelesscapabilities like WiFiand Bluetooth are nearly becomingastandard, it offers the opportunity to drop thearchaicmethods to transfer data between devices with technology like CDsand offerasimpler way for military medics to exchange patient information. Toyon Research Corporation proposes DropNet,across-platform application for secure, device-to-device(D2D)medical record transfer to support seamless patient movement through variousechelons ofcare. Through focus on software design, user interaction, and the use of pre-integrated communication hardwaretechnology in various systems, DropNet will reduceadditional hardwarecostsand complications providingan effortless, reliablemedical record transfercapability to servicemembers. Speed, securityand simplicityarethethreecorecomponents of DropNet. Utilizingthelatestcompression algorithmsand automaticselection of the best supported datatransfer for theenvironments demands, DropNet will bethefastest D2D transfer system. Incorporatingmodern security practicesand designingthesystem to meet the Department of Defense Risk ManagementFramework willensure both reliable datatransfersand expedited integration into field operation. Simplifyingthe user interfaceis intended to makemedical personnel focus less on the datatransfer processand instead providemoreattention to the patient
