Abstract

Our proposal is focused on determining the need and feasibility for integrated quantum systems design and fabrication technologies to enable rapid research and development prototyping, and subsequent production, and an industrial base for integrated quantum machines and systems. We focus on the problem of field-able quantum systems for communication networks to support the Air Force as a use case . The Guided Particle-University of West Florida team will, in this initial phase, complete a survey and conduct customer discovery, in addition, do design ideations on distributed quantum networks vs existing silicon networks focusing on quantum network communications versus WiFi network communications that resides at Eglin AFB. The team will also evaluate the feasibility of connecting system scaling design principles with novel printed circuit technologies and automated robotic manufacturing for microscale features and devices to enable integrated quantum machines and systems. These systems can allow defense applications for new quantum clocks, sensors, communications, processors and networks, and these application spaces will be customer surveyed and evaluated for amenability to the industrial design and fabrication workflow being proposed and to drive toward an MVP.
