Abstract

Nahsai is advancing breakthrough materials and manufacturing techniques for commercial non-Defense sensing applications in extreme environments. Solutions are based on patented polymer-derived ceramic materials and fabrication techniques that enable electrical and mechanical property tailoring of devices that survive in conditions of extreme heat, pressure, and oxidative environments.  These technologies and capabilities can deliver solutions to critical sensing needs of the Department of the Air Force and Department of Defense in hypersonics, rocket engines, and space sensing.  In this proposal, we intend to demonstrate an integrated wireless temperature sensor array in conditions up to 1600C, that will enable orders of magnitude improvement in performance over existing approaches.
