Abstract

Street Smarts VR (SSVR) seeks to conduct Phase I customer discovery process to determine whether adaptation of its existing fully-immersive VR training system can solve the US Navy’s lack of a small arms / anti-terrorism force protection training simulator for use onboard US Navy Ships and Submarines both ashore and at sea. The SSVR system is a fully-immersive VR training tool for non-defense and defense law enforcement and security professionals which combines a unique blend of focused scenario-based training software, leading COTS VR hardware and best in class training weapons. The system’s combination of features, packaged in an exceptionally small form factor, allows customers to optimize the use of limited training space resources to conduct incredibly effective judgemental use of force training. The limit of trainee-worn equipment to the VR headset only allows trainees to use their actual duty equipment, to include duty holsters for SSVR weapon systems, greatly increasing training realism. The multi-branch scenario training software is also designed to allow trainer/instructor focus on trainee skill development with advanced scenario review and playback features, ensuring post-scenario trainer/trainee feedback most effectively impacts trainee skill development and knowledge retention.  Currently sold to customers across the US Law Enforcement community and the Security Force community of the United States Air Force, SSVR seeks to build on these exceptional sales partnerships to deliver a much needed tool to US Navy Sailors at a time of ever-increasing security risks to armed force protection watchstanders onboard afloat units.
