Abstract

A major challenge is how to enable 100’s or 1000’s of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to fly safely at the same time over an urban or other dense airspace. The proposed STTR Phase I research extends and applies previously developed University of Utah technologies for a a lane-based Urban Air Mobility system, where flights are scheduled along lanes. The proposed effort will specify scenarios of interest, port existing Matlab implementations to micro-services written in the Python programming language, develop a user interface, apply the University of Utah algorithms to the scenarios, and test and evaluate the results.
