Abstract

Bulzi will adapt its Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL-9) “zBeacon” product line to support Base Security applications. zBeacon utilizes Radio Frequency (RF) Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to passively identify the location of mobile devices in an area of interest. Our commercial zBeacon products are used to inform outdoor advertising networks about consumers exposed to locations of interest. For Base Security applications, Bulzi will modify zBeacon, which was designed for indoor short-range applications, to support outdoor long-range sensors required for Base Security applications. Bulzi is an industry leader in Geospatial Human Intelligence. Bulzi’s GHI system (called "LOCALiz") collects the location of U.S. mobile devices 30 billion times daily and has mapped 500 million of these devices back to consumer metrics in a privacy-safe manner. This SBIR proposal is designed to adapt our commercial technologies into DoD threat assessment solutions to help protect facilities and other areas of interest from breach, provide post-breach analytics, and facilitate real-time first-responder intelligence. Bulzi is currently under USAF SBIR Phase I contract to modify LOCALiz for Base Security applications. This proposal is intended to fund modifications of zBeacon for Base Security applications.
