Abstract

The base program will focus on simulation, modeling and testing CDMA based acoustic modem which will be tested on representative amplifiers and transducers. QorTek plans to model, code and test a CDMA based modem utilizing existing transducers, hydrophones and power amplifiers to enable countermeasure communication in a contested acoustic environment.  It is planned that QorTek's approach will continue into the Phase II with an equally strong emphasis on hardware verification to confirm that our proposed platform can feasibly meet the target requirements. The Phase II plan is to demonstrate the communication concept using relevant off the shelf hardware from both QorTek and Leidos. This QorTek acoustic payload hardware will already contain the necessary FPGA/processing power to host the CMSC algorithm for testing. Off the shelf hydrophone concepts will be investigated and incorporated in later test events. The Phase II Objectives aim to exit the Phase II with a successful countermeasure demonstration.
