As electronic warfare (EW) permeates down to the small unit operations (e.g., with the proliferation of IoT devices, 5G, demand for multidomain spectrum management, and adversaries who can leverage or attack these components with malice), there is a need to bolster Operator's shared situation awareness (SSA) of the EW space that overlays the physical battlefield to enable a small unit multidomain common operating picture (COP) inclusive of EM spectrum management. Availability of this fused COP has potential to directly impact key measures of readiness and risks. Knowmadics and our teammates at the University of Arizona (UofA) and BadVR propose a Phase I effort to scope, design and demonstrate the feasibility of an initial proof-of-concept prototype of RAZORFISH. RAZORFISH will enable battlefield aligned visualization of key EM spectrum management elements salient to SOF (presented via pass-through end-user device augmented reality (AR) for near-term utility, and as head-mounted display AR as these technologies are fielded), as a mechanism to bolster the SSA and freedom of movement of small unit teams.
