AI-based indoor mapping and localization using smartphone sensor data


Solutions should provide an AI-driven indoor mapping and localization application that utilizes mobile smartphone cameras and sensors to precisely determine a user's position within an indoor setting. This system will emulate human spatial memory by employing AI, video, and directional data to identify and remember routes within an indoor space. Furthermore, it will offer users a streamlined 3D indoor map of the explored area. The application's capabilities will include: 1) identifying and tracking the device (user) in indoor environments using the device's built-in camera and sensors; 2) ensuring a horizontal accuracy of less than 5 ft; 3) generating a simplified 3D schematic displaying the user's location and path; and 4) compatibility with widely-used platforms such as iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
