Abstract

The primary objective of this proposal is to define requirements for creating a user-friendly graphical interface and a geographic representation advanced exercise scenario generation tool that will provide for the initialization state of a wargame exercise. There will be three technical objectives: 1. Define information required for input by exercise planning staffs. 2. Lay out database schemas for the advanced exercise scenario generation tool and for the AWSIM/R Oracle database. 3. Develop the top level design for the advanced exercise scenario generation tool. This tool, the Advanced Exercise Scenario Generation Tool, is the basis of this SBIR proposal. It would provide an advanced visual toolset which would provide enhanced scenario generation capabilities. It would provide a user-friendly graphical interface and a geograpic representation of game objects, that is, air bases, aircraft, munitions, radars, SAM sites, etc.It is further envisioned that this tool would be PC based to provide ease of use so that the exercise planning staff can work in their own office environment or use aportable PC at a planning conference. The tool would then provide an automated means of pipelining the scenario information to the wargame database.
