Abstract

The Monolithic Analog Signal Conditioner (MASC) project described by NSWC TM 951128 dealt specifically with many of the issues associated with developing a high bandwidth, high dynamic range application specific integrated circuit dedicated to the function of conditioning sensor signals prior to digitization. Since most of the MASC candidate sensor signals are destine to be digitized, there is an opportunity to further integrate A/D capability directly with the MASC creating a Monolithic Analog Signal Conditioner and Digitizer (MASCD). The issues of design optimization and IC integration of an MASCD are proposed to be researched.
