Abstract
INSTRUMENTS BASED ON THE SEEBECK EFFECT HAVE BEEN USED SUCCESSFULLY IN EUROPE AND THE UNITED STATES TO IDENTIFY ALLOYS THAT HAVE BEEN HARDENED BY HEAT TREATMENT OR COLD WORKING. BECAUSE THE RESULTS OF RADIATION DAMAGE, INCREASED YIELD STRENGTH AND DECREASED TOUGHNESS ARE SIMILAR, AN INVESTIGATION IS PROPOSED TO EXAMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF USING THE SEEBECK EFFECT IN THE ASSESSMENT OF RADIATION DAMAGE.
