Sentar's Work-Centered Interface (WCI) for Computer Network Defense (CND) provides decision support for computer security by combining a multi-agent architecture with work centered design concepts. Based on Sentar's KnoWebr architecture, the WCI integrates distributed information resources to provide situational awareness, rapid assimilation, and effective response in a variety of application domains. For CND, WCI provides insight into attacks and suspected attacks, suspicious activities, and accidental security violations to security administrators who can effectively evaluate threats to mission critical systems and respond quickly. The Mission Critical Software and Data Guard (SDG) concept adds to WCI-CND the ability to secure mission critical systems from intentional or accidental breaches from "trusted" software. Malicious attacks often originate from authorized personnel and approved software systems. Accidental security breaches are often due to insufficient security policies and improperly configured security systems. The SDG concept uses state-of-the-art security technology to ensure that no malicious or accidental damage can occur in these situations.
