HLA RUNTIME ANALYSIS AND MONITORING TOOLS

As the potential of the High Level Architecture (HLA) is realized, the size, scope, and frequency of federations will grow, and as they do, so will the expense of the manual federation planning, execution, monitoring, and analysis process. The basis for an automated approach to exercise execution and monitoring is the Execution Plan developed during the federation planning phase and containing Federation Execution. Host, LAN, Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI) Services and Object/Interaction Table data. An execution and management tool will provide a central repository for the Configurtion Management (CM) of execution plan data. The federate and federation data gathered during the planning phase includes all of the necessary information to visualize a detailed representation of the federation and federates. Virtual Technology Corporation will focus on the design of a Federation Monitoring Analysis Tool which will include: (1) visualization of federation planning, monitoring, and analysis data, (2) production of federation planning tables, (3) satisfaction of federation monitoring and analysis data requirements, and (4) identification and correction of federation run-time inaccuracies. A visual representation of the federation provides the ideal control point for executing decisions across the entire federation based upon notification of the state of the federation and its member federates.
