The proposed Phase I investigation is expected to yield innovative technologies for covert active sonar operation for antisubmarine warfare. The approach includes an innovative active sonar concept, waveform selection, receive signal processing, and correction of signal distortion by environmental propagation. The low source level which enhances low probability of intercept will also provide marine mammal mitigation. 3 Phoenix has extensive experience in the development of sensor processing technology and has been successful in transitioning leading edge technology to defense applications. We anticipate that the results of this effort will demonstrate the feasibility of the system approach and the path to implementation.
