The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. SIMON: Simulation and Modeling for SANs

SBC: ARCHITECTURE TECHNOLOGY INC            Topic: N04T017

The use of Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) to provide ubiquitous access to information within the Department of Defense presents challenges in both the design and implementation of these systems. The need to provide information to the war-fighter in a timely manner while maintaining the security of the system in challenging environments far exceeds the capabilities of present day enterpris ...

  2. Novel Materials for Ultra-Sensitive Low-Frequency Magnetometers

SBC: NVE CORP. (FORMERLY NONVOLATILE ELECTRONICS, INC.            Topic: N05T025

This work seeks to develop the ultra-low-frequency performance of spin-dependent-tunneling magnetic-field sensors through the use of novel thin-film materials to lower the frequency-dependent excess noise and increase the signal response. What is proposed is an investigation of novel thin film materials recently discovered to have high magnetoresistance effects. Magnetic sensor devices will be f ...

  3. Ruggedized Multifunction Fiber-Optic Transceiver Optical Subassembly

    SBC: Mytek, LLC            Topic: N05T005

We will address the requirement for fault identification and isolation in fiber optic data links by incorporating an optical time domain reflectance (OTDR) functionality into the transceiver module. Our approach is to monolithically integrate a high speed photodetector that will sense reflections from discontinuities in the optical channel, with the 850nm VCSEL which transmits the signal.

  4. Plan Understanding & Mission Assessment (PUMA)

SBC: SMART INFORMATION FLOW TECHNOLOGIES LLC            Topic: N05T017

Two technologies with nearly perfect complementary capabilities are combined in this project. Univer-sity of Virginia has developed the Tactical Interface for Monitoring and Retargeting (TIMR), based on recent Tactical Tomahawk work. This provides decision aiding and an underlying simulation platform, but by design provides no autonomous planning capability. SIFT has developed PlaybookT, an int ...

  5. Optimal Training System

    SBC: Emt, Inc.            Topic: AF04T014

The ability to train novice operators on a variety of tasks through automated training systems provides a cost effective and timely solution for a number of applications. The training regimen required for military personnel lends itself to automated training systems. In order to overcome some of the challenges and shortfalls of the traditional intelligent training systems, a strong normative or ...

  6. Development of a Portable Breath Analysis System Based on a Novel Electronic Nose Microsensor

SBC: STREAMLINE AUTOMATION LLC            Topic: AF04T017

Significant recent research has shown that breath biomarkers are excellent indicators of oxidative stress caused by conditions ranging from radiation exposure to COPD. Current techniques for collection, concentration, and analysis of exhaled breath do not support real-time analysis, or require complex and bulky equipment. Streamline Automation, LLC will develop a portable Breath BioDetector in p ...

  7. Automated Test of Word Recognition- Phase II

    SBC: AUDIOLOGY, INC            Topic: N/A

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): Over 5 million word recognition tests are administered annually by audiologists in the United States with an associated cost of more than $100 million. These tests are currently performed manually by highly trained audiologists. This application describes the Phase II development of automated clinical speech recognition tests using clinical test recordings and ...

  8. Audiometric Earphone- Phase 1

    SBC: AUDIOLOGY, INC            Topic: N/A

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): This project seeks to develop an earphone for diagnostic audiometry with features that will significantly increase the efficiency and decrease the cost of routine hearing testing. The most-often used earphones emply a supra-aural design that has several undesirable characteristics, including 1) an "occlusion effect", an artificial increase in sensitivity to bon ...

  9. Optimal Hydrophobicity of Lipoid Gene Delivery Agents

SBC: AVANTI POLAR LIPIDS, INC.            Topic: N/A

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): Cationic lipid-like compounds are commonly used in vitro and in vivo to deliver DNA to cells for the purposes of expressing exogenous genes. A number of clinical trials have indicated the promise of these agents for gene therapy, however lipid-based delivery remains less effective than the alternative viral vectors. Nevertheless, vast improvements have been mad ...

  10. MRI Quantification of Postinfarct Myocardial Viability

SBC: ELGAVISH PARAMAGNETICS, INC.            Topic: N/A

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): The overall goal of this project is to develop a novel method for MRI quantification of postinfarct myocardial viability. Ultimately, the commercial embodiment of this method will be a software package that will convert a set of 2D cardiac MRI images to a 3D Myocardial Viability Map (MV) with a voxel-by-voxel resolution. In human clinical use, the package woul ...
