The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. Bulk, Exchange-Coupled Nitride Magnets

SBC: Advanced Materials Corp            Topic: A06T003

During Phase I, we have conducted proof-of-principle experiments to fabricate exchange-coupled isotropic permanent magnets with SmFeN-Fe4N compositions employing shock wave consolidation technique. We have also successfully synthesized nearly 100% Fe16N2 in bulk form. Under this Phase II plan, we propose to optimize and further enhance the isotropic exchange-coupled permanent magnets with higher e ...

  2. Light Filament Sensor

SBC: Applied Energetics, Inc.            Topic: A06T017

The formation and use of optical filaments resulting from high-power, ultrashort pulses propagating within the atmosphere is currently an active area of research for military and commercial applications. Optical filaments can be used to ionize molecules and atoms and produced related spectral emissions. Importantly, the range at which the filament formation occurs within the atmosphere can be cont ...

  3. TSR-SHIELD: Time & Spatially Resolved Standoff Hyperspectral Imaging Explosives LIDAR Detector

SBC: ChemImage Sensor Systems            Topic: A06T006

Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is being successfully transitioned to field applications in both close-contact (proximity) and standoff detection modes. LIBS is attractive since it can be used to detect a wide range of chemical, biological and explosive (CBE) hazardous materials. While LIBS is well suited to evaluation of complex hazards, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) ...

  4. High Temp High Energy Product Permanent Magnet Material

SBC: ELECTRON ENERGY CORP            Topic: AF05T024

Electron Energy Corporation and University of Delaware propose to develop multiphase nanocomposite magnets with room temperature maximum energy product potentially up to 100 MGOe for high temperature applications. Multiphase nanocomposite magnets could take the advantage of the extremely high coercivity of SmCo alloys, the high saturation magnetization and moderate intrinsic coercivity of other ha ...

  5. Integrated Aero-Servo-Thermo-Populso-Elasticity (ASTPE) for Hypersonic Scramjet Vehicle Design/Analysis

SBC: ZONA TECHNOLOGY INC            Topic: AF05T027

Conventional air-vehicle designs are subjected to a well-set system/operational requirements. Scramjet-powered vehicle (SPV) design however enters an unprecedented level of multidisciplinary synergy to achieve its operational requirements. Through a convoluted and inverse design strategy for SPV, its propulsion system inlet design largely dictates the airframe geometry. Further, it is complicated ...

  6. Real Time 3-D Modeling and Immersive Visualization for Enhanced Soldier Situation Awareness

SBC: Carnegie Robotics LLC            Topic: A12aT003

We propose a rapid mapping and 3-D visualization system especially suited for inside buildings, tunnels, urban canyons, and other environments where GPS may be poor or not available. The system--which was fully demonstrated in our Phase I effort-- includes mobile Sensor Nodes that wirelessly supply compressed 3D range data and color imagery to a central Fusion Node. The Fusion Node runs 3D recon ...

  7. Scale up of EO polymers and their utilization in novel nano-imprinted sub-wavelength waveguide-based Modulators and Arrays

    SBC: TIPD LLC            Topic: AF11BT01

ABSTRACT: The Phase II technical objectives follow directly from the Phase I effort, where all tasks necessary for RF photonic receiver fabrication were demonstrated. The Phase II effort will pursue two major objectives: 1) further development of SEO100 EO polymer based chips, packaged devices and arrays in collaboration with University of Dayton (antenna designs), taking advantage of multiphoto ...

  8. Near Real-Time Quantification of Stochastic Model Parameters

SBC: APPLIED MATHEMATICS, INC.            Topic: A13AT009

Mathematical models of physical and biological systems contain parameters that need to be estimated from measured data. Models with parameters distributed probabilistically require the estimates of a probability measure over the set of admissible parameters. We propose to use frequentist-based approaches for non-parametrically estimating probability measures that describe the distribution of par ...

  9. Solar Blind MgZnO Photodetectors

SBC: AGNITRON TECHNOLOGY, INC.            Topic: A13AT006

This project address the fabrication of solar blind detectors from the MgZnO material system. Both MBE and MOCVD material growth techniques will be used for deposition of the required material layers. Simulation software we be used to aid in the design of the photodetector structure. Devices will be fabricated from the grown structures and their electrical and optical characteristics determined.

  10. Sensitivity Analysis Methods for Complex, Multidisciplinary Systems

SBC: ZONA TECHNOLOGY INC            Topic: AF11BT06

ABSTRACT: The overall technical objective of this Phase II effort is to develop computational tools for computing response sensitivities of parametric multi-disciplinary air vehicle systems that exhibit nonlinear dynamic behavior for use in gradient-based optimization, smart sampling, uncertainty quantification, and risk assessment. To this end, the ZONA/MIT team will extend the 2-D ZEUS time-dom ...
