Award Data
The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.
Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB)
or without award abstracts (65MB).
A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.
The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

Advanced Manufacturing Technologies
SBC: SENTIENT SCIENCE CORPORATION Topic: DLA152001In response to DLA SBIR Topic DLA152-001 for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Sentient Corporation (Sentient) proposes to develop a life cycle cost optimization tool based on our commercial DigitalClone modeling technology. This tool will enable users to evaluate the tradeoffs between alternate manufacturing processes, implementation costs, and the performance/durability of the resultant comp ...

Advanced RIIC Technology to Increase Density and Efficiency of IRLED Arrays (ART-IDEA)
SBC: Chip Design Systems Inc. Topic: AF171015We propose to study how extraction efficiency can be improved by reducing IRLED pixel pitch. Our approach is to scale the size of RIIC pixel and IRLED device from 24-microns down to 12-microns and to lower the IRLED drive voltage from 10 Volts to 5 Volts.

A New Architecture for FUN3D on Modern HPC Systems
SBC: EM PHOTONICS INC Topic: S501The goal of this project is to refactor NASA's FUN3D computation fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation code to enable it to take full advantage of accelerator hardware available on modern hybrid computing environments. We will rearchitect FUN3D to take advantage of HPC tools we are currently building for NASA Goddard, using a dynamically-scheduled, task-based approach, with the goals of improving scalabi ...

A Novel, Low Cost and Handheld Metal Sorting Sensor for Chemical Cleaning and Stripping Process
SBC: ALPHASENSE, INC. Topic: AF161009ABSTRACT: After a certain amount of service time, many aircraft components need to be cleaned and the coatings on those parts need to be stripped. Prior to the chemical cleaning and stripping processes, those parts are routinely examined by inspectors to locate the part numbers and find their matches on a list. Such a visual inspection process is not only time consuming, but also prone to human er ...

ATCOM SHARP Box for Real-Time Turbulence Mitigation
SBC: EM PHOTONICS INC Topic: NASAA402When imaging over long distances, atmospheric turbulence between the camera and subject degrades the collected data limiting the effective resolution, regardless of the quality of the optic and sensor used. This reduction in image quality can have serious impacts on the ability to carry out missions by reducing situational awareness and preventing target identification. EM Photonics has been worki ...

Dense Arrays for High-Fidelity, Optically-Sampled Passive Millimeter-wave Imaging
SBC: PHASE SENSITIVE INNOVATIONS INC Topic: A13040Under the proposed effort, PSI will continue to develop a novel pmmW imaging technology developed under a prior Navy program to realize dense form factor arrays. This technology is based on an optical upconverted distributed aperture technology that can make large effective apertures in low SWaP form factors thereby maximizing achievable resolution. This sensor technology has already reached TRL 6 ...

Design and Process Development of Thin-Ply Composites
SBC: COMPOSITES AUTOMATION LLC Topic: T1203This project evaluates automated tape placement (ATP) processing of thin ply composites, including process and design modeling, test panel fabrication and mechanical performance evaluation. Key to successful transition of standard ply to thin ply ATP processing is the ability to fabricate uniform high fiber volume and fiber distribution composite parts with below 1% void content. Our ATP robotic s ...

Efficient Arrays for Generating Light Emission (EAGLE)
SBC: Chip Design Systems Inc. Topic: AF16AT22With today's IRLED devices, >99.4% of input electrical power is converted into parasitic/waste heat. Moreover, as the local temperatures of the pixels increase due to the generated heat, IRLED optical efficiency is further reduced. Overall this severely limits the number and intensity of array pixels that can be simultaneously operated at high apparent temperatures. In Phase 2, we focus on develop ...
