The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY23 is not expected to be complete until September, 2024.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. Emulsified Bilgewater Treatment

SBC: ADA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.            Topic: N03206

The goal of this multiphase SBIR project is to develop and commercialize a compact and robust system for removing oil from bilgewater using electrocoagulation (EC). Under Phase I, ADA Technologies tested the ability of EC to treat oily, emulsified bilgewater. Lab-scale tests verified that the EC process consistently breaks oily emulsions, producing a floc that can be separated from the water phase ...

  2. Modular Micro-Weather Station for Use in Open Ocean and Coastal Marine Environments

SBC: ADA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.            Topic: 813

NOAA collects meteorological measurements in open ocean and coastal marine environments from research vessels, data buoys and commercial ships for use in numerical weather prediction, global climate change research, and severe storm identification. The current system cost for robust marine automated meteorological stations is too high to allow ubiquitous use on all the available platforms. Throu ...

  3. Air-cooled High-power Blue-Green Laser

SBC: COHERENT TECHNOLOGIES, INC.            Topic: N04049

CTI's experience with high energy, mil-spec laser systems makes us keenly aware that the environmental controls for such lasers can be larger, heavier, and more power-hungry than the lasers themselves. The next generation of airborne lasers must address this situation head-on in order for dramatic advances in laser technology to achieve widespread utilization. CTI is taking a fresh look at high po ...

  5. An aircraft instrument for measurement of absorption at multiple wavelengths in the atmosphere.

SBC: Droplet Measurement Technologies, LLC            Topic: N04139

A three wavelength instrument will be developed that measures aerosol light scatter and absorption simultaneously. Lasers with frequencies of 405, 532 and 870 nm will be used as the light sources. Light absorption by the aerosols will be measured by the photoacoustic technique. The instrument will be designed for fast response, and operation from aircraft platforms.

  6. Optimized and Rapid Employment of Loitering Weapons in Response to Calls for Fire

SBC: Data Fusion Corporation            Topic: N03176

Advances in the Tactical Tomahawk weapon system enable the concept of stationing the Tactical Tomahawk missiles in loiter paths for rapid responses to calls for fire from ground commanders. Data Fusion Corporation in collaboration with the University of Virginia Department of Systems and Information Engineering is now developing algorithms and an interactive software system that optimize the plan ...

  7. Multi-Modal Command Recognition for J-UCAS Direction

    SBC: DEVELOSOFT CORP.            Topic: N03T003

An aircraft carrier’s flight deck is a thousand accidents waiting to happen… large, heavy aircraft must move nimbly about a maelstrom of men, vehicles, aircraft, and bombs. An aircraft moves safely only when the pilot understands the directors perfectly. Now take the pilot away... how can you achieve high sortie rates, reduced manning, and absolute safety with a “dumb” aircraft without th ...

  8. State-of-the-art Tracking and Situational Awareness

    SBC: DEVELOSOFT CORP.            Topic: N01185

The CVN-21 island will not have a manned camera on the 07 Level yet must meet the requirements for launch, recovery, and special event tracking that it provides on previous CVs. We propose a system of state-of-the-art panoramic views, pan/tilt/zoom camera, and low-light fixed cameras which provide situational awareness equal or better than possible today. Tedious, repetitive tracking tasks and r ...

  9. Advanced Microwave Antenna for Airborne Soil Moisture and Salinity Mapping

SBC: FIRST RF CORPORATION            Topic: 8110

The NOAA Environmental Technology Laboratory seeks to perform advanced wide-area mapping of soil moisture and salinity. This requires a large scanning antenna with aerodynamic form, narrow beamwidth, high efficiency, and dual polarization. This antenna system must provide operation at L-band (1400-1427 MHz) and C-band (6.0-6.5 GHz). This large aperture must maintain stable performance independe ...
