The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. Passive Self-Regulating Denitrification Technology for Aquaculture

SBC: AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGIES, L.L.C.            Topic: N/A

Commercial-scale marine aquaculture has the potential to close the gap between an increasing demand for high quality seafood products and marine fisheries near maximum sustainable yields. In flow through aquaculture systems, the release of nitrate to nearby streams, lakes, etc. can be detrimental to the ecology of the receiving water body. Similarly, in recirculating aquaculture and/or aquarium sy ...

  2. Development of a Closed Loop Recycling System for CCA-Treated Wood

SBC: Arnold Forest Products Corporation            Topic: N/A

This proposal details a research program to investigate the potential of a CCA-treated wood recycling system based on liquefied wood technology. Liquification converts wood to a viscous liquid by using organic reagents and low temperatures. This CCA removal technology will liquify CCA-treated wood in the presence of organic solvents at a mild temperature with an acidic catalyst.

  3. High Efficiency Trail Assessment Process for Rural Trails

SBC: BENEFICIAL DESIGNS INC            Topic: N/A

Currently, the benefits of objective trail information are limited in rural areas because the team of people required to complete the UTAP is difficult and costly to assemble. The USDA Forest Service is responsible for the management of 133,000 miles of trails and public lands with trails held by other Federal government agencies also extensive. With 84% of Americans reporting that they walk for r ...

  4. Abrasion-Resistant Inorganic Membranes for Sugar Processing

    SBC: Ceramem Corporation            Topic: N/A

The sugar and grain processing industries produce tens of billions of dollars worth of product each year. These industries have used membrane technology for some applications but membrane durability limits their widespread utilization. At present, there are no commercial cost-effective membranes that have the requisite process performance and lifetime for many applications within these industries. ...

  5. Phase II: Materials Characterization $ Manufacturing Development of an Irrigation Ditch Liner System

    SBC: FastDitch, Inc.            Topic: N/A

Earth-lined ditches lose between 55 and 90 percent of the water that flows through them. This project will produce a working prototype of a connectorless irrigation ditch liner.

  6. Milk Pasteurization and Homogenization by Acoustic Cavitation at Small Rural Dairy Farms

SBC: Harris Acoustic Products Corporation            Topic: N/A

Milk prices have steadily increased over the past two decades; however, the price paid to farmers has remained around $1.00 per gallon over the last two decades. This has resulted in many small dairy farmers getting out of the business. The purpose of this project is to design a system that a small dairy farmer can use to process milk so that he can send it directly to the consumer and avoid the a ...

  7. Refining and Expanding the Use of Low Fat Soy Flour in Twin-Screw Extrusion to Produce High Protein Textured Soy for Food Applications

SBC: SCHILLINGER SEED INC            Topic: N/A

There exists in the market an unmet demand for soy-based meat analogs to satisfy the North American consumer preferences for the texture and mouth-feel of the meats they grew up eating. Current commercial products derived from solvent extracted soybean flours do not meet market expectations. This project will advance the use of natural process soy flours that retain some (6-8%)oils to deliver grea ...

  8. Fine Chemicals From Agricultural Residues: Phase II

SBC: Plant Polyphenols, LLC            Topic: N/A

Plant polyphenols classified as proanthocyanidins or condensed tannins have demonstrated potential to improve health. However, interest in these compounds is limited because individual compounds are found in low proportions in complex mixtures obtained from plant extracts. The work in this project is directed to finding a way to make rare or novel proanthocyanidin compounds in potentially unlimite ...

  9. Procyanidins Made from Douglas-Fir Bark and Tea Leaves: Structure and Physiological Properties

SBC: Plant Polyphenols, LLC            Topic: N/A

The flavonoids are well known for their potent antioxidant properties and have potential to improve health. However, it is is essential that the structures of new compounds are proven prior to study of their physiological activity. Current approaches to proof of structure of these compounds are costly and time consuming. We propose to demonstrate an efficient NMR approach to proof of structure of ...
