The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. Neuromorphic Control System for Powered Limb Splints

    SBC: Advensys, LLC            Topic: A04T009

AdveNsys, Inc. will join with Arizona State University to develop a neuromorphic analog system to control an actuated, lightweight, powered ankle-foot orthosis. The neuromorphically actuated orthosis will provide mobility in the battlefield for soldiers with lower-leg wounds or fractures to enable them to be evacuated with minimal medical support. This effort builds upon our expertise in modeling ...

  2. Corrosion Protection of Aluminum Aerospace Alloys by Biofilm Appliques

    SBC: CORTEC CORP.            Topic: A04T003

Fabrication procedures have been proposed to develop biofilm-containing appliques capable of mitigating the corrosion of aluminum aerospace alloys (e.g. AA2024-T3). The proposed methods are expected to produce surface protective flexible polymer coatings that containing bacterial biofilms capable of providing corrosion protection to the metal surfaces of aircraft and other military equipment to wh ...

  3. Optimal Bioaerosol Sampler

SBC: MANNING APPLIED TECHNOLOGY            Topic: N/A

Development of an Optimal Bioaerosol Sampler with enhanced optical triggering capability is proposed, following a highly successful Phase I effort that clearly demonstrated feasibility. The threat of a bioaerosol attack can be partially mitigated by deployment of a cost-effective sensor network. High priority programs, such as BioWatch and Portal Shield will benefit from a sensor compliant to Join ...

  5. Rapid Assessment of Individual Soldier Operational Readiness

SBC: Microbial Insights, Inc.            Topic: A04T018

Human breath contains a treasure-trove of metabolic data, which has the potential to provide real time information representing an individual's baseline health status or rapidly categorize baseline deviations related to environmental stressors, including, biological or chemical agents, physical, heat and cold stress, sleep deprivation, pollutant or allergen exposure, and disease. The most prevale ...

  6. Powerful Source of Collimated Coherent Infrared Radiation with Pulse Duration Fewer than Ten Cycles

SBC: N.P. PHOTONICS, INC.            Topic: A14AT006

Few-cycle mid-infrared lasers are highly demanded for a variety of practical applications. NP Photonics and University of Arizona propose to develop a wavelength tunable and power-scalable optical parametric laser system at 8-12 micron capable of producing collimated few-cycle pulses with pulse energy>100 microJoule. In this phase I program, we will design the whole laser system and do a feasibil ...

  7. Technology to Regulate Circadian Rhythm for Health and Performance

SBC: BRAIN STATE TECHNOLOGIES LLC            Topic: A14AT009

We propose a wearable, dual-use neurotechnology device. The Personal Brainwave Headband, driven by tablet or smartphone, is designed for noninvasive closed-loop acoustic stimulation, to permit improved circadian regulation. It will measure brain electrical activity from scalp overlying four key sectors of cortex, perform high-resolution spectral analysis of the signals, and use software algorith ...

  8. Solar Blind MgZnO Photodetectors

SBC: AGNITRON TECHNOLOGY, INC.            Topic: A13AT006

This project address the fabrication of solar blind detectors from the MgZnO material system. Both MBE and MOCVD material growth techniques will be used for deposition of the required material layers. Simulation software we be used to aid in the design of the photodetector structure. Devices will be fabricated from the grown structures and their electrical and optical characteristics determined.

  9. Freeze Casting of Tubular Sulfur Tolerant Materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    SBC: MILLENNITEK, LLC            Topic: A14AT011

Solid oxide fuel cells have long suffered from degradation due to impurities in the fuel and complexities associated with dissimilar materials and high operating temperatures. This degradation lowers the usable cell power output and requires ancillary equipment for fuel sulfur removal and reformation. A unique microstructure for the tubular anode will be produced using a novel freeze-casting tec ...
