The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. Next Generation Electronic Warfare Human Machine Interface (HMI) for Submarines

    SBC: SEACORP, LLC            Topic: N151036

During Phase I, HMI concepts were developed to facilitate work load sharing, collaboration, and interoperability of tools and displays. Attention was given to simplicity and efficiency to reduce the number of menus and button clicks, eliminate windows, and simplify controls to be more intuitive. In Phase II the conceptual displays will be developed into a fully functioning prototype and integrated ...

  2. Innovative Velocity Sensors

SBC: Btech Acoustics, LLC            Topic: N141026

This project involves the development of hull mounted acoustic motion (accelerometer) sensor with increased sensitivity (+6dB), greater stability, and low cost for hull mounted sonar arrays. Investigations and developments of sensors without and with preamplifiers is considered.

  3. Rapid Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Tool-path Programming

SBC: Tucker Innovations Inc.            Topic: N141045

The objective of this project is to rapidly produce CNC mill path programs for the production of propellers by NAVSEA. Propellers are produced by casting to near net shape and then finishing via 5+ axis milling operation. This project uses recently developed subtractive 3D printing techniques to automatically produce a mill path from as cast part to finished part.

  4. Reduced Cost Fabrication of Optical Sapphire Hyper-hemispheres for Submarine Masts

SBC: ADOLF MELLER COMPANY            Topic: N161036

The objective of the proposal is to reduce the cost of fabrication of sapphire optical hyper-hemispheres for submarine masts. Due to the nature of sapphire, deriving complex geometries from grown boules using current conventional fabrication techniques is one of the major contributors to cost. Removing excess material requires long diamond grinding cycles. New advances in ultrasonics have been inc ...

  5. Shallow Water Communications for Mine Warfare

SBC: Btech Acoustics, LLC            Topic: N161027

A system to covertly communicate in underwater acoustic shallow water environment for mine countermeasure is described. Techniques for LPD and directional communication are suggested.

  6. Development of high-power near-UV semiconductor laser diodes

SBC: ADROIT MATERIALS, INC.            Topic: N161005

The overall objective of the proposed work is to demonstrate the feasibility of electrically pumped, high-efficiency and long-lifetime, near-UV, solid-state laser diodes (LDs) based on AlGaN MQWs grown on native, single crystalline GaN substrates. The targeted laser diodes will emit between 330 - 350 nm with an emission power exceeding 1 W. These lasers will find application in remote Raman spectr ...

  7. Develop a Methodology for Cyber-Electronic Warfare Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) using Game Theory

SBC: VIGILANT CYBER SYSTEMS, INC.            Topic: N141078

The government has identified the DARPA PlanX program as a likely transition program for this technology. As such, the toolset designed in Phase I will be redesigned in Phase II to be compatible with the PlanX data formats and API, and the revised design shall be implemented and tested. The core algorithms in the decision process will be redesigned to function in the PlanX architecture to enable s ...

  8. Ultra-lightweight and Compact Hybrid System

    SBC: WINDLIFT INC.            Topic: N153129

The Windlift MPWES will utilize proven principle of airborne wind energy to improve the energy density of man portable renewable energy systems by an more than an order of magnitude relative to existing systems such as the Ground Renewable Expeditionary Energy Network System (GREENS) project. The MPWES system will deploy a 75 lb., tethered quadcopter coupled to a 145 lb., 10kW-hr battery pack capa ...

  9. 3D Acoustic Model for Geometrically Constrained Environments

SBC: HIGH REZ CONSULTING, INC.            Topic: N16AT018

Geometrically constrained underwater environments abrogate the simplifying acoustic modeling assumption that energy can be modeled in a two-dimensional vertical plane. In these environments, current tools to perform navigation and passive and/or active sonar mission planning are inadequate. Furthermore, channel complexity makes it difficult to model acoustic communications. HRC proposes to upgrade ...

  10. Epitaxial Technologies for Gallium Oxide Ultra High Voltage Power Electronics

SBC: KYMA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.            Topic: N16AT023

High power, high voltage switching via semiconductor materials is attractive from a size, weight, and profile perspective. The Baliga figure of merit for high voltage for Ga2O3 is 3,415 (relative to Si), which suggests this material is well-suited for power device applications. Kyma Technologies proposes to design a deposition system capable of growing monoclinic beta-polytype Ga2O3, and n-type an ...
