The Award database is continually updated throughout the year. As a result, data for FY24 is not expected to be complete until March, 2025.

Download all SBIR.gov award data either with award abstracts (290MB) or without award abstracts (65MB). A data dictionary and additional information is located on the Data Resource Page. Files are refreshed monthly.

The SBIR.gov award data files now contain the required fields to calculate award timeliness for individual awards or for an agency or branch. Additional information on calculating award timeliness is available on the Data Resource Page.

  1. ENT: Extended Nestor Tagging

    SBC: REDSHRED, LLC            Topic: 2

In order for manufacturers to unlock the promise of AI for data-driven decision making, they need visibility into large volumes of unstructured knowledge trapped in technical language like work order notes. The process of annotation and knowledge extraction from unstructured technical language data is currently a time consuming and challenging bottleneck to adopting machine learning at scale. In N ...

  9. Investigation of Traction Motor Failure Modes and Monitoring Methods

SBC: FORCING FUNCTION LLC            Topic: 190FR5

Currently traction motors are typically maintained on a Time-Based Schedule. The move to a more cost-effective Condition-Based monitoring system faces multiple challenges - primary among them being the complexity of wiring and instrumenting sensors in the ruggedized rail environment and the difficulty of extracting intelligible information from the data collected in a noisy environment. Forcing Fu ...

  10. Investigation of Traction Motor Failure Modes and Monitoring Methods

SBC: FORCING FUNCTION LLC            Topic: 190FR5

The prevailing approach to train maintenance is to service trains on a time or mileage basis. While the basis for such activities is based on empirical failure data it does not take into account if parts or components actually need replacing and it does not prevent component failure in service should that occur between scheduled maintenance points. The principles of Condition Based Maintenance have ...
