Abstract
Motivating nurses' aids and nurse attendants is a challenge for nursing supervisors as is assuringWe will focus on providing tools to help assure the provision of quality care by these workers for epatients who are at risk for developing pressure ulcers. Monitoring the scheduled delivery of this cconventional means and poorer than expected clinical outcomes in many nursing homes reflect this prodevelop two low cost monitoring devices, one that measures compliance with patient repositioning schthat reminds and records performance of clinical staff. We will evaluate their combined effectivenesdelivery of prescribed care. We will consider whether the system is more effective in the context ofhome quality assurance programs or in the context of a simulated Total Quality Management or ContinuImprovement approach.
