Abstract
The purpose of this project, and the justification for funding, is the modification/adaptation of an ultra miniature wireless, digital-video capsule developed by Given Imaging Inc. for use in the gastrointestinal tract, to meet the needs of newrequirements and markets, specifically: security, surveillance, search and rescue, crisis mitigation, and similar applications. This technology introduces a new dimension in the ability to accurately visualize processes, eavesdrop in hostile territory, aswell as on-location recovery, and manage events that previously had to be managed by dog sniffing, risking troops or personnel, or by use of the imagination rather than objective displays. It is applicable to intelligence gathering, crisis management, riskmitigation, crisis recovery efforts, and security surveillance.
