Abstract

In this proposal we outline a binary-level tool automating the insertion/mapping of code snippets into application binaries in hardware-assisted software protection systems. All techniques will be developed with the objective of achieving the highest possible security and flexibility. The approach has several innovative components including sophisticated binary-level program analyses and program transformations for enabling snippet mapping/insertion, the ability to select the critical codes with a graphical user interface at the binary level, a binary-level cross-compilation approach for a number of instruction sets, and support for targeting software protection in a wide range of system architectures.
