AbstractBONN has chosen to concentrate on an innovative concept that will lead to the design and development of a single, integrated flight performance model for various aircraft platforms. This flight performance model, to be known as the Common Flight Performance System CFLIPS), also features an easy-to-use interface that will enable TAMPS Mission Planning Module (MPM) developers to quickly and easily develop their software, without requiring extensive expertise in flight performance modelling and TAMPS software development. The CFLIPS integrated flight performance model will dramatically decrease MPM development time. BONN will analyze existing Flight Performance Models (FPMs) to identify commonality in flight modes, functionality, and software implementation, to develop a common flight performance modelling methodology that can be applied to various aircraft platforms. As part of this analysis, BONN will also examine a versatile three-degree-of-freedom, point mass air vehicle maneuvering software module called Perform, which may produce a superior generic model to polynomials. BONN will design the CFLIPS integrated, data-driven, flight performance model, and a simplified Application Programming Interface (API) to the CFLIPS integrated flight performance model. BONN will also design tools to create tabular data for CFLIPS from electronic and hardcopy sources, such as GFE polynomials, existing MPMs, and flight manuals.
