Abstract
This proposal outlines a strategy for transitioning Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) displays into the MWIR and LWIR. Existing LCOS displays are limited to visible operation. IR capability will be achieved through the use of high-speed liquid crystal materials and the development of a large pixel, high voltage silicon backplane. The result will be a high-resolution, high speed display capable of simulating extremely high apparent temperatures.
