Abstract
"CANVS proposes a series of Color Night Vision systems be constructed during Phase-II. CANVS has a long history of experience in the field of Color Night Vision systems. Recent experiments by CANVS have provided validation for the proposed systemconfigurations. Details of these experimental systems and their performance is covered in the CANVS technical proposal upload. Phase-I of this program will consist of detailing system level components. CANVS will create a performance model based on acombination of the system level components with accepted image intensifier modeling techniques. The resulting Color Night Vision system model performance will be compared with standard "green" night vision system performance under identical target andillumination conditions. The results of the Color Night Vision system model will then be used to refine the system configurations and form the basis for the creation of shop ready drawings at the beginning of Phase-II. At the request of various governmentagencies CANVS has severely limited the exposure of the CANVS technologies to commercial markets. This having been said, it has been made clear through a long series of interactions with various U.S. Government user communities that the CANVS technologieshave universal appeal in the fields of close quarters combat, MOUT, surveillance, physical security, facial recognition in low light environments, and specialized medical applications.
