Abstract
THIS PROJECT WILL DETERMINE THE TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY AND POTENTIAL UTILITY OF DEVELOPING MIS SOFTWARE FOR TRACKING SERVICES TO YOUNG CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES ACROSS MULTIPLE SERVICE PROVIDERS. THE PROJECT ADDRESSES THE IMPORTANT NEED TO DEVELOP MIS SOFTWARE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO SUPPORT A NEW ERA OF PROFESSIONAL AND FAMILY PARTNERSHIPS AND COORDINATED SERVICE DELIVERY. MAJOR OBJECTIVES FOCUS ON SPECIFYING THE PURPOSES AND RANGE OF USES OF MIS SOFTWARE ACROSS MULTIPLE SERVICE PROVIDERS, DEFINING THE MIS DATA BASE, IDENTIFYING REQUIRED INPUT FORMS AND OUTPUT REPORTS, AND DEFINING THE SOFTWARE PARAMETERS. INNOVATIVE FEATURES OF THE MIS DESIGN WOULD RELATE TO ESTABLISHING A COMMON DATA BASE ACROSS PROVIDERS, FACILITATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUALIZED FAMILY SERVICE PLANS AND INTEGRATED CASE MANAGEMENT, BEING RESPONSIVE TO BOTH NATIONAL AND AGENCY INFORMATION NEEDS, AND A MODULAR DESIGN ALLOWING FOR EASY TRANSFERABILITY AND FUTURE EXPANSION.
