Abstract
The objective of the Phase II program is to demonstrate that single crystal piezoelectrics are a viable approach for small footprint, broadband and high power acoustic sensors. The objective will begin by down selecting between potential high performance compositions based on the technological merits (likelihood of achieving >100% bandwidth, required source level, electrical power requirements, etc.) and the commercial potential. This will be accomplished through advanced materials development coupled with analysis and device modeling. The growth of the chosen composition will be optimized in Phase II and TRS will supply optimized composition single crystals for tonpilz element and small scale array assembly.
