Abstract
This proposal advocates the development of perception-based image rendering techniques for virtual reality and simulation applications. These techniques will enable the Army to better understand and evaluate the operational capabilities of vision based task performance. The proposed development effort has focuses on the development and evaluation of image rendering algorithms as the primary Phase I activity. The overall approach directly leverages previous work at Cybernet in building distributed Army test and evaluation systems and ARPA operator performance evaluation systems. The outcome of this effort is directed at producing a commercial product that will support video rendering for simulation and virtual reality applications.
