Enterprise Portal Software for Improved Situation Awareness

We propose to develop an enterprise portal architecture for integrating Air Force data sources, making this information accessible through standard web appliances. Our proposed solution is a two-fold approach. First, we will develop an enterprise portal server technology that makes use of and extends Cybernet Systems OpenSkiesä networking and simulation technologies. Second, we will design and implement a framework for situation awareness including a thorough investigation and trial of prototyped human-computer interfaces. We will design the visual presentation of the portal website with a focus on improving situation awareness on a variety of web-enabled platforms in a distributed ground network.
