Abstract

The development of a compact, ruggedized, and frequency stabilized QCL-based frequency comb platform is proposed in response to the DARPA topic SB 161-003. The system will include an integrated laser module comprising a hermetically sealed butterfly package mounted on an air-cooled heat sink and a separate power supply with a temperature and a current comb-stabilization feedback loop. The butterfly package will have approximate dimensions of 3x3x1 and include all optical elements required for absolute frequency stabilization. The overall platform will be designed for operation in environmental conditions consistent with MIL-STD-810G specifications.
