Abstract

Wolf's back extraction blast seat incorporates energy absorption to protect the full weight range of occupants in a blast event and during the subsequent drop-down event. It automatically adapts its EA response to the weight of the seated occupant, without any intervention by the user.It also functions also as an extraction system, allowing rescuers to extract the occupant from the disabled vehicle in a stabilized manner, without exacerbating injuries or causing further injury. The extraction is manageable by two personnel.
