Abstract
Not Available At Oneworld we are developing a service that will combine user end software, a secure network and feedback-oriented curriculum to provide a kid-friendly, learning-specific interface for global video communication. The software utilizes a detailed, three dimensional globe as a graphic user interface for children to access the network. The network will provide a secure pathway and storage for the children's video and written communication. The curriculum is multi-subject and task oriented, and will be designed to encourage self-directed, cross-cultural collaboration. By uniting current technology with progressive educational theory we will help to expedite the transition from the presently employed static media approach for teaching, into the dynamic construction of real world meanings in the classroom.
