Abstract
"The Special Operation Forces (SOF) Threat Warning Software (TWS) will provide the SOF operator with the capability to rapidly detect, identify, receive alarms, and display the active emitters within his sphere of influence via emitter identification,direction finding (DF), and battlefield mapping functions integrated into a single user interface and display software. Furthermore, SOFTWS will provide SOF leaders with the capability to perform Electronic Surveillance (ES) within their sphere ofinfluence with the data collected by the threat warning receivers? data utilized by his operators. Utilizing TWS the SOF Commander will be capable of collecting threat warning and ED into a TWS for analysis and dissemination to other DOD systems. TWSwill provide the SOF operator with advanced individual, mission element, organization and Joint Task Force threat warning, enhance situational awareness, Electronic Surveillance, and data for Signal Intelligence and Information Operations/Warfare. DuringPhase I, CME will conduct research on target identification technologies and the latest in smart software, and prepare an assessment report different alternative approaches that could be used to meet SOF requirements. A threat warning software approachand design for the JTWS will be developed. By the end of Phase 1, CME will demonstrate a TWS prototype with DF and mapping capabilities.
