Abstract

The HDMWS is the centerpiece for a potentially revolutionary technical breakthrough required in the reliable detection of hostile munitions. Our strategy is to address the limitations that exist in current HFI and MWS sensors, namely reliance on the initial muzzle flash for detection.Cyans key small pixel innovations allow a much smaller HD format array which results in a reduction in the size of the optic (IFOV = dpix/fl) so that the resolution improves with smaller pixels. At the same time the smaller sensor uses less detector materials and results in a size reduction in the sensor package as well as the optics. The result of this proposal describes a very compact and lightweight IRST with WFOV/NFOV and high resolution zoom in window with processor aided multi-target tracking and ID. These HD sensors offer unprecedented new capabilities to address increased resolution, increased Signal to Noise, longer standoff range hostile fire detection, and sight ID.
