Abstract
A BROADBAND ( OCTAVE) DUAL POLARIZED FLUSH MOUNT ANTENNA WITH LOW RCS WILL BE DEVELOPED. THE ANTENNA WILL BE CENTERED IN C-BAND WITH AT LEAST ODBI OF GAIN WITH A SIMULATED CERAMIC HEATSHIELD INSTALLED. THE ELEMENT WILL BE DESIGNED TO HAVE AN OMNI-DIRECTIONAL RADIATION PATTERN TO ALLOW IT TO BE INTEGRATED INTO A WIDE VARIETY OF ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS. PHASE II WILL ADDRESS THE ANTENNAS ABILITY TO WITH STAND AERO-THERMAL LOADS AS WELL AS DEVELOP A HEATSHIELD WITH SUITABLE RF AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES. THE ANTENNA WILL BE MODIFIED TO OPERATE IN OTHER FREQUENCY RANGES AS WELL.
