AbstractThe objective of this effort is to define key technical requirements/issues, develop a preliminary design, provide an implementation approach and perform a feasibility/cost/fidelity trade-off analysis of an Electronic Combat Engagement Visualization System capable of supporting real time operation for electronic combat evaluations in the Integrated Defensive Laboratory (IDAL). DRA proposes to harness the latest in analysis and integration technology by applying object oriented paradigms to produce a design which incorporates flexibility and standardization to effectively and efficiently meet the requirements of IDAL as well as other applications. DRA will maximize the flexibility in the design by implementing standards such as those developed for the Joint Modeling and Simulation System (JMASS) while applying innovative technologies such as Object Broker, a distributed universal data manager, to further insure the applicability of the designed system to a broad range of applications. The design will encompass an analysis of the full range of visualization technologies. The resulting design will reflect the optimum integration of technologies based on a thorough trade-off analysis and the incorporation of critical technologies to support future maintainability thus ensuring a design which is implemented and cost effective.
