Abstract
Electronic textiles (aka electrotextiles, e-textiles, or smart fabrics) represent a revolutionary advancement in how the myriad of peripheral devices and associated capabilities issued to dismounted personnel might be integrated into their combat ensemble. The Defense Health Agency (DHA) has identified e-textiles as a potential means of unobtrusively monitoring health and detecting injury events for dismounted personnel. In this SBIR program, Mantel Technologies aims to develop the tools required to correlate damage patterns in e-textiles to bodily injury.
