AbstractDynetics proposes an innovative effort that will result in the production of a novel Channelized Direction Finding System. The envisioned signal environment consists of multiple, simultaneous pulsed signals, all operating within one common intermediate frequency (IF) band of an electronic surveillance measures (ESM) receiver. Desired receiver functions include the determination of pulse time-of-arrival (TOA), frequency, angle-of-arrival (AOA), and amplitude from a monopulse basis. Given rapid ESM processor technology changes, an initial assessment of system requirements, architecture type, and component availability is suggested. Dynetics, with its active involvement in acousto-optics, ESM receivers, and subcomponents, is best positioned to lead this pro- posed Phase I product definition effort. During Phase I, Dynetics will select the best approach and perform the preliminary design of the Channelized Direction Finding System. During a Phase II effort,other specialized team members would be added to deliver a final product containing interfaces, signal analysis, and post processing. Military applications for the Channelized Direction Finding System are tri-Service wide in the ESM/electronic intelligence (ELINT) arenas.
