Abstract
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP A LOW COST SYSTEM TO EXPAND THE CAPABILITY OF EXISTING NAVY ELECTRONIC WARFARE TRAINING ASSETS. THE SYSTEM WILL CONSIST OF A RESPONSE MONITOR RECEIVER AND RECORDER WHICH WILL RECEIVE AND RECORD ELECTRONIC RESPONSES TO AIRBORNE MISSILE THREAT SIMULATOR RADIATED SIGNALS. THE RESPONSE MONITOR WILL BE USED TO EVALUATE ECM EFFECTIVENESS DURING TRAINING EXERCISES BY POST-MISSION ANALYSIS. THE SYSTEM WILL PROVIDE TIME CORRELATION BETWEEN THE SIMULATED THREAT SIGNTURE AND THE ECM RESPONSE. THE CANDIDATE SYSTEM FOR THE PHASE I STUDY WILL BE THE AN/AST-6 THREAT MISSILE SIMULATOR POD, BUT CONSIDERATION WILL ALSO BE MADE FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH THE AN/AST-4 AND THE AN/AST-7 THREAT MISSILE SIMULATOR PODS.
