Abstract
NEW RESEARCH STRATEGIES TO SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE THE CYCLE LIFE OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE RECHARGEABLE LI CELLS ARE PROPOSED. EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF REPRESENTATIVE CELL SYSTEMS TO DEMONSTRATE FEASIBILITY OF THE APPROACHES WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN PHASE I. THE PRINCIPAL ASPECT OF THE NEW STRATEGIES IS CONCERNED WITH THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ANODES, INSTEAD OF PURE LI METAL ANODES, IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE RECHARGEABLE LI BATTERIES.
