Abstract
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR PREDICTING DISPERSION FROM OPEN AIR DETONATION OR BURNING OF THE NAVY'S PEP (PROPELLANT EXPLOSIVE, PYROTECHNIC) MATERIALS. THE FIRST STEP OF THE PROJECT WILL BE TO DEFINE THE CONTROLLING PARAMETERS, I.E., PRODUCTS OF COMBUSTION FORMED, PARTICLE SIZE ANALYSES AND PLUM CHARACTERISTICS. GENERALIZED PREDICTION MODELS DEVELOPED FOR CHEMICALMUNITION WILL THEN BE MODIFIED IN ORDER TO INCORPORATE THE GENERATED DATA DEVELOPED FOR THE NAVY'S MUNITIONS.
