Abstract
EPITAXIAL GROWTH OF THIN LAYERS OF PBS(X)SE(1-X) ON BAF(2) SUBSTRATE BY MOLECULAR BEAM EPITAXY (MBE) HAS BEEN PROPOSED. THE MBE TECHNIQUE CAN PRODUCE HIGH-QUALITY MULTILAYERS OF PBS(X)SE(1-X) WITH DIFFERENT X VALUES, WHICH WILL GIVE RISE TO DIFFERENT CUTOFF WAVELENGTHS IN THE INFRARED SPECTRAL REGION. SCHOTTKY-BARRIER DETECTORS CAN THEN BE FABRICATED BY DEPOSITING AN APPROPRIATE METAL ON TOP OF THE PBS(X)SE(1-X) MULTILAYERS AND THE SCHOTTKY-BARRIER DETECTOR ARRAYS.
