Abstract
The development of a healthy behaviors through active design tool supports the initiatives focused on nutritionphysical activityand obesity by utilizing an evidence based web application to offer design solutions that influences healthy choicesThis feasibility study provides a prototype and establishes the commercial merit of the resulting research based applicationproviding health and wellness features for architectsdesignersand policy makersAn interdisciplinary comprehensive literature review will focus on the intersection of nutrition and physical activitybehavioral designand the built environmentDatasets are determined by the literature review through an established methodology for ranking the strength of the researchThe web based application includes three componentshealthwellness and design interventions for the design and construction of the built environmentassociated product specificationsandrecommended operational policies and procedures that support the design interventionsThe innovation of the web based application is its utilization of an existing BIM platform that is already familiar and used in the architecture and design community that includes research based datasets supporting alternative building design solutions to encourage healthy choices by consumers
